  • The Spotlight Initiative

    The Spotlight Initiative is a global, multi-year partnership between the United Nations and the European Union aimed at eliminating all forms of violence against women and girls (VAWG). It was launched in 2017 with an initial contribution of €500 million from the EU—the largest-ever investment in ending gender-based violence.

    More to Her Story is proud to partner with the Spotlight Initiative to amplify the voices of women and girls and shed light on the systemic violence they face worldwide.

  • Rukhshana Media

    Rukhshana Media is Afghanistan’s first feminist news agency, founded by Afghan journalist Zahra Joya to amplify the voices of Afghan women and girls. Named in memory of a young woman stoned to death for fleeing a forced marriage, the outlet reports on issues like gender-based violence, reproductive rights, and the daily struggles of women under Taliban rule. Joya was named one of TIME magazine’s Women of the Year in 2022.

    Rukhshana Media has partnered with More to Her Story to tell the stories of women and girls living under Taliban rule in Afghanistan.

  • Zan Times

    Zan Times is a women-led investigative newsroom founded in 2022 by Afghan journalist Zahra Nader. The outlet reports in both English and Farsi, focusing on human rights violations affecting women in Afghanistan. Zan Times collaborates with journalists inside Afghanistan, many of whom work anonymously due to security concerns. The organization has received international recognition, including the 2025 Pen2Pen Freedom of Expression Award and the 2024 Human Rights Press Award for its reporting on the rise in suicides among Afghan women under Taliban rule.

    Zan Times has partnered with More to Her Story to amplify the voices of Afghan women and girls living under Taliban rule.

    The Wilson Center—ranked among the top think tanks in the world—is part of the Smithsonian Institution and a premier nonpartisan policy forum for tackling global challenges through independent research and open dialogue. Its Middle East Program is one of Washington’s leading platforms for in-depth analysis of political, economic, and social trends across the Middle East and North Africa.

    In 2024, the Wilson Center’s Middle East Program partnered with More to Her Story to amplify women’s voices from across the MENA region, spotlighting underreported narratives and contributing to a deeper global understanding of the intersection between gender and policy.

    FEMINIST is the world’s largest women-owned, social-first digital platform dedicated to amplifying the voices and experiences of women and girls, reaching over 6 million through storytelling, advocacy, and community-building initiatives.
